What's New This Week
Request Member Payments from Within Pear Suite
Organizations can now create, send, and manage payment requests tied to specific members and claims—no spreadsheets or outside tools needed.
Features Include:
- Payment Requests section added to both the Member Profile and Claim Details
- Create, update, and close payment requests
- Filter by member, claim, or request status
Permissions determine who can access and manage payment requests.
Trigger Payment Requests from ERA Copays
When ERA copay suggestions are accepted, Pear Suite can now automatically generate a payment request for the member—based on the copay value.
This automation helps teams follow up quickly without missing member payments due to manual gaps.
Member Signatures for Care Plans
Members can now sign or acknowledge Care Plans to confirm that they’ve received and reviewed them. Staff can track signed/acknowledged status directly from the Care Plan view. This can be configured from the Care Plan template under Templates.
Send Reminders for Scheduled Activities
Admins can now configure automatic SMS, email, or both to remind members about upcoming appointments.
Key Options Per Activity Template:
- Set how far in advance the reminder sends
- Choose delivery method (SMS, Email, or both)
- Customize reminder text
Once enabled, reminders are sent automatically based on each activity’s scheduled time.
Bulk Member Actions with Dispatching Tool
The new Member Dispatching page allows users to filter member lists and take bulk actions—like sending notifications, updating statuses, or launching workflows—across selected members.
Highlights:
- Filter members by attributes or status
- Select multiple members across pages
- Take batch actions from a centralized Bulk Action Menu
- Track action success or failure with clear feedback
Claim Rounding Now Configurable
Time-based claim rounding thresholds can now be customized per cost configuration. This helps meet strict requirements (e.g., Medicare) without relying on Pear Suite’s default rounding logic.
Admins can now set:
- Minimum duration (in minutes)
- Maximum duration (in minutes)
This ensures only valid activities generate claims—and supports no-rounding workflows when needed.
Set Group Size Limits by Procedure Code
You can now limit the number of members allowed in a group activity based on the procedure code used for billing. This ensures compliance with payers who restrict how many participants can be billed together—regardless of plan or group code.
When limits are exceeded:
- Users receive an in-platform warning
- The activity cannot proceed until the member count is within limits
Support for Institutional (837I) Claim Generation
Pear Suite now supports both 837P (professional) and 837I (institutional) claim formats.
Set claim type at the insurance level:
- Go to Insurance Configuration
- Choose between 837P or 837I
- Save the setting—claims for that insurance will use the selected format
This helps teams bill correctly for institutional services without altering your core workflows.
