Recurring Schedules for Calculations
Description
Calculations can now be configured to run automatically on a recurring schedule. This allows calculated data points that change over timeโsuch as gestational ageโto stay current without requiring new source data to be manually entered solely to trigger the calculation.
Configuration
When configuring a calculation, admins can now define a recurring schedule in addition to the calculation's existing behavior.
Configuration options include:
- When the recurring calculation should begin.
- How frequently the calculation should run.
- Whether the schedule should stop after a defined period, date, or number of runs.
For example, a gestational-age calculation can be configured to run weekly over the course of a pregnancy so that the calculated number of weeks continues to update automatically.
Calculation Behavior
Recurring calculations add a scheduled trigger without removing the calculation's existing triggers.
A calculation can therefore run:
- Automatically when its configured recurring interval is reached.
- When new source data causes the calculation to run through its existing calculation behavior.
Scheduled calculations are processed approximately on the hour rather than at the exact minute the interval is reached. The scheduler evaluates when the calculation most recently ran and determines when its next configured interval has elapsed.
Because calculations can still run when their underlying data changes, an additional calculation run between scheduled intervals can affect the timing of the next recurring run. The recurring calculation then continues based on the calculation's most recent run time.
๐ Issues / Fixes
Goal Assigned Date Saving Incorrectly
Fixed an issue where the Goal Assigned Date did not retain the date selected by the user and instead defaulted to the goal creation date. Selected assigned dates now save correctly.
Duplicate Insurance Updates Causing Processing Errors
Updated insurance processing to safely handle duplicate insurance updates across all supported file types without causing errors. This prevents duplicate update records from interrupting insurance file processing.
