Welcome to Pear Suite’s Virtual Onboarding Guide for PCHI! 

This training has been designed to help your organization successfully deliver and document PCHI services using the Pear Suite platform. Whether your team is new to PCHI or just getting started with Pear Suite, this series will guide you through the core workflows, documentation practices, and review processes your team will need to understand before getting started. 

The training is broken into 6 short, self-paced modules, each covering a specific part of the PCHI workflow. It’s important that every team member involved in service delivery, documentation, review, or oversight completes this training so your organization stays aligned on how to use Pear Suite correctly, document work accurately, and follow the required process. Throughout this training, your team will learn how to navigate the PCHI workflow in Pear Suite, including how to create member profiles, complete intake steps, submit review requests, document services, support follow-up, and respond to internal review and correction processes.

PCHI Overview 

PCHI is designed to support members through structured services and coordinated workflows that help your team document needs, track support, and move work through the appropriate review process.

While some parts of the Pear Suite experience may look similar to other programs, the PCHI workflow has its own process, expectations, and documentation needs. That is why it is important for staff to understand not only how to use the platform, but also how PCHI specifically operates within it.

Pear Suite serves as the central place where your team can create member records, complete intake steps, submit review requests, document services, track follow-up, and respond to internal review or correction needs.

This means your documentation in Pear Suite should be clear, complete, and aligned with your organization’s workflow. Each step builds on the one before it, and accurate documentation helps support continuity, visibility, and smoother operations across your team.

By the end of this training, your team should understand both the purpose of the PCHI workflow and how to carry it out correctly in Pear Suite.

Now that you have a high-level understanding of PCHI, the next module will show you how to create member profiles in Pear Suite.

 
 

Creating Member Profiles

This module will show you how to add new members into Pear Suite. You’ll also learn which fields are required for billing towards Medi-Cal CHW benefits.

PCHI Intake and Enrollment

In this video, we will cover the initial CHW Visit, which members must complete first and then again every 30 days.

Recommendations

This module will cover recommendations and how to select them to trigger the relevant care pathways.

Completing care pathway activities and follow ups 

In this module, we will cover how to complete care pathways, work through the activities within them, check the status and schedule follow-ups.

In this video, we will cover the review request that is triggered after a care pathway is completed.
