Setting Up Z-Codes
How to manage diagnosis codes, also known as Z codes, within the Pear Suite Platform.

This article explains how to manage diagnosis codes, also known as Z codes, within the Pear Suite Platform. By configuring these codes on the organization level, you ensure that team members can accurately document member needs for assessment and billing purposes.
Get started
Step 1 – Access the Organization page
- Navigate to the left-hand menu and select the Organization icon
- Remain on the General tab, which is the default landing page for your organization settings
Step 2 – Locate the diagnosis section
- Scroll down the right-hand side of the General tab until you see the Diagnosis header
- Review the list of currently active codes to determine if a new entry is required

Step 3 – Add a new diagnosis code
- Click the + Diagnosis Code button
- In the pop-up window, enter the specific alphanumeric Code
- Enter a clear Description for what the code represents
- Click Create to add it to your organization's list

Step 4 – Edit or archive existing codes
- To modify a code, click the Edit icon next to the entry you wish to change
- To remove a code from active use, select the Archive or Delete option
- Note: We highly recommend using the Archive function rather than deleting, as deleting codes can cause errors in historical billing records
Step 5 – Save and update changes
- After completing your additions or edits, scroll to the very bottom of the Organization page
- Click the Update button on the bottom right-hand side
- Verify that a confirmation message appears to ensure your changes have taken effect
