What’s New This Release

Configurable Member Visibility for Unassigned Users

Organizations using assignment-based member access can now control how unassigned members appear in the Member List.

Organization Admins can choose to:

  • Show unassigned members in the Member List while preventing users from opening their profiles.
  • Completely hide unassigned members from users who are not assigned to them.

Assigned users will continue to see and access their members as usual. This gives organizations more flexibility when managing access to Protected Health Information (PHI).

Send and Receive Files Through Member Messaging

Pear Suite messaging now supports Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), allowing users and members to exchange files directly through text conversations.

Users can send and receive:

  • Images
  • Portable Document Format (PDF) files
  • Videos

Multiple files can be attached to a conversation. Files sent or received through messaging are also automatically stored in the member’s Files section, helping teams keep communication and documentation together.

Tag-Based Access Controls for Activities

Tag-based visibility rules are now available for Activity Templates and Member Activities.

Activity Templates can be assigned tags, and newly created activities automatically inherit those tags. A user’s role determines whether they can access activities connected to each tag.

Restricted activities are hidden from:

  • Member records
  • Exports
  • Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
  • Related workflows

Users without access cannot create, update, or delete restricted activities. Activities created before tags were added will remain visible.

Multiple CPT and Modifier Combinations on Activity Templates

Activity Templates can now include multiple approved Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code and modifier combinations.

When completing an activity, users will only see the billing combinations configured for that specific template. This prevents unrelated billing options from appearing and helps organizations support service-specific reimbursement requirements.

Compliance Holds for Required Provider Signatures

Claims can now be automatically placed on hold until a required provider Review Request is completed and approved.

Organizations can connect a Review Request Template to a compliance requirement. When an activity requiring provider review is completed:

  • A Review Request is created.
  • The related claim remains on compliance hold while the review is pending.
  • Billing users can see why the claim cannot be generated.
  • The claim can proceed after the required approval is completed.

This supports Medicare and other billing workflows that require provider approval before claim submission.

Use the Reviewing Provider as the Rendering Provider

Organizations can now configure claims to use the provider who approved the Review Request as the Rendering Provider.

A new Activity Reviewer option is available within Cost Configuration. The reviewer can be added at the claim or service-line level, depending on the organization’s billing setup.

When configured, the reviewing provider’s National Provider Identifier (NPI) is automatically included on the claim. The required provider information must be completed on the reviewer’s user profile.

Improved Dashboard and Todo Management

Several improvements make Smart Dashboard and todo workflows easier to manage.

Users can now dismiss items directly from Today’s Agenda and Todo views. Review Requests, goals, claims, scheduled activities, overdue items, and completed todos also display more consistently across dashboard workflows.

Store Signature Dates as Data IDs

Portable Document Format (PDF) signature fields can now automatically save the date a signature was completed as a Data ID.

Organizations can use the stored signature date in:

  • Exports
  • Reports
  • Compliance checks
  • Workflow validations

The signed document will continue to generate normally, while the signature date is stored separately for reporting and tracking.

Exact CPT and Modifier Matching

Activity Templates now include a Require Exact Modifier Match setting.

When enabled:

  • Modifier options are matched directly to their related CPT code.
  • Users only see valid modifier combinations.
  • Unrelated modifiers do not appear.
  • No modifier options are shown when no exact match is configured.

This provides more control over billing selections and helps reduce claim errors caused by incorrect CPT and modifier combinations.
